Heather McKendry – Teacher Development Coordinator

Heather McKendry (she/her) is a somatic bodyworker in training and the Teacher Development Coordinator at the Strozzi Institute.

Her journey into the healing realm of somatics began in 2022 during her participation in Embodied Transformation. It was then she discovered a wealth of inner capacity previously untapped. Before her time at SI, Heather held various roles spanning marketing, sales, product design, program/project management, human resources, and organizational development. Her passion lies in cultivating environments where organizations, its people, and culture can flourish. She holds a Master’s Degree from Seattle University in Organization Systems Renewal, focusing on leading systemic change within organizations.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Heather is dedicated to fostering inclusion in outdoor spaces. She serves as a board member for Wild Diversity, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating outdoor connections for BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ communities. When she’s not at her desk, you’ll find her on the original homelands of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs in Bend, Oregon, on skis, a bike, or her feet – sauntering through nature’s wonders with her wife, two dogs, and friends.
