& COMPLETION POLICY

Payment/Fees Policy

Payment (in part or in full) is required to secure a place in a course. Scholarships are awarded based on applications to support increased access for historically marginalized communities. 

We offer payment plans for all courses where the number of payments available is specific to each course. There are no fees or interest charged to participate in a payment plan. All payments will be made in U.S. dollars.

General Refund and Transfer Policy

Requests for refunds and transfers should be submitted through our Change of Registration form

Online Programs

Cancellation and refund policies for Online Courses and Retreats are shared on the online course pages and shared on the order form upon registration. In general, refunds for online courses are granted, no questions asked, until the end of the day of the first live session of the course. Please confirm on each course page for details.

Refunds for In-Person Coursework***

If you enroll for an in-person course and cancel for any reason (including illness and medical emergencies) refunds are processed per the following guidelines:

  • 61+ days or more before the course start date, you are entitled to a full refund with no fees assessed.
  • 31-60 days before the course start date, you are entitled to a refund minus a $500 cancellation fee.
  • No refunds are issued 30 days or less from the course start date. Instead, a credit will be issued to apply towards another SIS course up until 48 hours before the class start date. Please see our Transfer policy below for details. 
  • A “late cancellation” is a cancellation of 48 hours or less before the course start date and will result in a 100% forfeiture of funds. Special consideration for course transfer credit will be considered in cases of medical emergency, illness, or death in the family. (See illness and medical emergency section) 
  • Refunds are processed within 15 business days from the date of cancellation and issued to the original credit card of the holder.

Transfers for In-Person Coursework***

If you enroll in an in-person course and wish to transfer for any reason, (including illness and medical emergencies) please review our guidelines for transferring to another course or for receiving a course credit for future use.

  • Transfers requested 15+ days before the start of a course will incur a $250 transfer fee
  • Transfers requested 14 days or less before the first day of the course will incur a $500 transfer fee
  • Transferring 48 hours or less is considered a “late cancellation” and will result in 100% forfeiture of funds. Special consideration for a course transfer credit will be considered in cases of MEDICAL EMERGENCY, ILLNESS, OR DEATH IN THE FAMILY. See “make up opportunities” for those who test positive for Covid-19 during the course.
  • Course transfer credits must be applied towards an active enrollment within one year (12 months) of credit creation. After this time, 100% of the funds will be forfeited.
  • Course fees, once converted to a course credit or transferred to another course, are not eligible for a refund.
  • Course fees (in the form of original payment and transfer credits) may only be transferred twice. Requests to transfer a third time will be considered a late cancellation and result in a 100% forfeiture of value.

Medical Emergency and Illness Policy**

Our commitment is to create a supportive and healthy learning environment for all of our students. Your cooperation with the following is essential in ensuring the well-being of our entire community.

Attendance Expectation

  • In-person attendance is vital for your success and engagement in this course. However, we understand that circumstances may arise that prevent you from attending in-person sessions. In such cases, we encourage you to prioritize your health.

Medical Emergency

  • If you are experiencing an illness, injury, symptom, or condition that requires urgent attention, please seek immediate medical care.

Illness

  • If you are experiencing symptoms of illness such as fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, or any other symptoms associated with communicable diseases (including COVID-19), we urge you to stay home and prioritize your recovery.
  • It is essential to prioritize your health and the health of others by avoiding attendance when ill to prevent the spread of illness within our community.

Communication Protocol

  • If you are unable to attend a session due to a medical emergency or illness, please notify us immediately at Support@StrozziInstitute.org. Provide details about your illness, including symptoms and any medical advice received, to ensure proper support.

Preventive Measures

  • In addition to staying home when sick, we encourage all students when traveling to the course to practice good hygiene habits, including frequent handwashing, wearing a mask if you think you’ve been exposed to a respiratory illness or feel cold-like symptoms emerging, and following any other preventive measures recommended by health authorities. We also encourage self-testing for the COVID-19 virus before arriving on the first day of the course. 

Makeup Opportunities

  • Although we do not issue refunds 30 days or less before a course, you will be offered the opportunity to transfer into a different course.
  • If you test positive for Covid-19 during the course, we offer course credit with the following guidelines.
    Requests for a course credit through the Change of Registration form must be completed no later than 14 calendar days after the end of the course. Waivers and exceptions can not be considered for any reason.

    4 day course:
    Attend 1 day/ credit offered for 3 days
    Attend 2 days/ credit offered for 2 days
    Attend 3 days/ credit offered for 1 day
    No credit offered when testing positive on the last day

    5 day course:
    Attend 1 day/ credit offered for 4 days
    Attend 2 days/ credit offered for 3 days
    Attend 3 days/ credit offered for 2 day
    Attend 4 days/ credit offered  for 1 day
    No credit offered when testing positive on the last day

SISC Refund and Transfer Policy

Refunds for Somatic Coach Certification Program (SISC)

If you enroll for the Somatic Coaching Certification Program and cancel refunds are processed per the following guidelines:

  • 31 days or more before the start of Session 1, you are entitled to a full refund minus a $500 cancellation fee. 
  • 30 days or less before the start of Session 1 and you are paid in full, you are entitled to a refund for any remaining future sessions paid in advance (Sessions 2 – 4) minus a $500 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given for Session #1.
  • 30 days or less before the start of an upcoming session (Sessions 2 – 4) and you are paid in full, you are entitled to a refund for any remaining future session(s) paid in advance minus a $500 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given for any prior sessions or for that upcoming session.
  • 30 days or less before the start of an upcoming session (Sessions 1 – 4) and if you are on a payment plan, you are entitled to a refund for any remaining future session(s) paid in advance through your payment plan minus a $500 cancellation fee. You are not entitled to a refund for that upcoming session or any prior session(s). 

Transfers for Somatic Coach Certification Program (SISC)

If you enroll in SISC and wish to transfer for any reason, please review our guidelines for transferring to another cohort or course, or for creating a transfer course credit for future use.

  • All transfers will incur a $500 administrative fee. This includes a transfer between cohorts before the start of Session 1 and/or to make up subsequent missed in-person sessions. Make-up sessions are not offered for SISC Session 1. If, for any reason, you are unable to participate in  Session 1, you will be offered an opportunity to transfer into a future SISC cohort. Special consideration for a course transfer credit will be considered in cases of MEDICAL EMERGENCY, ILLNESS, OR DEATH IN THE FAMILY. 
  • Course transfer credits must be applied towards an active enrollment within one year (12 months) of credit creation. After this time, 100% of the funds will be forfeited.
  • Course fees (in the form of original payment and transfer credits) may only be transferred twice. Requests to transfer a third time will be considered a late cancellation and result in a 100% forfeiture of value.

Illness and Medical Emergency Policy for Somatic Coach Certification Program (SISC)

To provide you with the required training hours for certification, you must be present for all in-person sessions and participate in live webinars and mentor coaching calls. If you have a medical emergency or become ill and are not able to attend one of the previous sessions or calls, please contact your lead teacher, mentor coach, or SIS Course Manager to inform them of your absence. 

  • Please reference our General Medical Emergency and Illness section.
  • If you are ill and are unable to attend SISC in-person Sessions 2-4, you are allowed to make up the session with a subsequent cohort. In-person make-up sessions are considered transfers and will incur a $500 administrative fee. Make-up sessions are not offered for Session 1. 
  • You will have one year from the last day of the session you missed to make-up your in-person session. You will then have six months from the last day of your make-up session to submit your final video/s for evaluation. After that deadline, all video assessments will incur a $350 late assessment fee. Extensions and fee waivers will not be provided for late video submissions for any reason.
  • If a MEDICAL EMERGENCY, ILLNESS, OR DEATH IN THE FAMILY prevents you from attending more than one SISC in-person session, please contact the Enrollment Director to discuss deferring your participation and transferring your enrollment to a subsequent cohort. Cohort transfers will incur a $500 administrative fee.

Partial Completion Policy for Somatic Coach Certification Program (SISC) 

To complete SISC, participants must complete/participate in the following:

  • One (1) Program Introduction Live Group Video Call
  • Four (4) In-person Sessions (four (4) days per session) 
  • Six (6) Methodology Live Group Video Calls
  • Four (4) Coach Competency Calls 
  • Four (4) One-on-one Mentor Coaching Calls
  • Four (4) Observed Coaching Video Review sessions
  • Three (3) Small Group Mentor Coaching calls

Certification Requirements

Final Video Submission
  • One (1) Video for Somatics Only
  • One (1) Video, if applying for Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF)
Other Completion Requirements
  • All Homework Submitted
  • Live attendance of 5 out of 6 online calls
  • Must watch all call recordings not attended live and report to Mentor Coach when complete
  • Utilize all Mentor Coaching sessions

Late Final Video Submission & Supplemental Mentor Coaching Policy

  • Credit for mentor coaching expires 6 months after the last day of the in-person training
  • Extensions or waivers, for any reason, will not be provided for mentor coaching sessions after this deadline
  • If a participant requires additional hours with a contracted mentor coach after the 6 month deadline, these hours will be billed at the respective mentor coach’s requested rate, and remitted directly to the mentor coach.
  • Final video assessment credit will expire six months after the last day of in-person training.
  • A $350 late assessment fee will be applied to each final video submitted for evaluation after the six month deadline. Extensions and fee waivers will not be provided for late video submissions for any reason.
